I’ve been trying to do a better job of creating environments; I really like how the background in this one came out. I’ve recently discovered the amazing comic The Bean by Travis Hanson. Not only is it a great epic story, but the artwork is fantastic, especially the way Travis creates a lush, palpable world for his characters to live in. I’m so inspired by his intricate, detailed environments; the reader’s eye can linger for a long time on the caverns and trees that envelop his characters’ lives. It made me want to slow down a bit and pay more attention to my own characters’ world, and I hope Cooties will be better for it. Thanks for the inspiration, Travis!
